Experience Monheim am Rhein completely free of charge!

Monheim am Rhein is one of the first German cities to offer free public transport to all its citizens. 

With the Monheim Ticket on the back of your Monheim Pass, you can now travel all over Monheim am Rhein and Langenfeld without spending a single cent. This is not only good for the climate; it also reduces the number of cars on our streets and makes our city a much better place to live in.

How the Monheim Ticket works.

  • When you activate your Monheim Pass, you also automatically activate your free Monheim Ticket.
  • Just go to the website

    www.monheim-pass.de
    or have your Monheim Pass activated at the Bürgerbüro (Citizens’ Office) in the City Hall.

  • When your Monheim Ticket has been activated, you can ride on all buses and trains in Monheim am Rhein and Langenfeld (VRR fare zone 73) completely free of charge

  • Please note: Like any personal ticket in the Rhine-Ruhr public transport network (VRR), your Monheim Ticket is only valid in conjunction with photo ID.

Easy access to the surrounding area.

  • If you occasionally want to travel further into the surrounding area by public transport (e.g. to Düsseldorf, Neuss, Wuppertal or Dortmund, which lie within the VRR area), you can buy a ZusatzTicket, an additional ticket to top up your free Monheim Ticket.
  • For journeys in the VRS area of the Rhine-Sieg Transport Association (e.g. to Leverkusen, Cologne or Bonn) you need a VRS ticket.
  • If you want to travel throughout the network, you need an EinfachWeiterTicket NRW, which is also valid for the Aachener Verkehrsverbund (AVV) transport association.
  • Please also think about your return journey when buying your ticket.
